A Learning Strategy is a series of explicit steps students follow to help them understand more of what they read. Learning Strategies related to reading help students attack difficult words and figure out what they mean; make mental movies as they read to increase understanding and recall of a passage; ask themselves questions, predict answers, then seek confirmation of their predictions in text.
